How we work and what we charge

Initial meeting

Our initial meeting is completely free, and you are under no obligation to take the matter further. If you are thinking of starting in business or changing your accountant, please come and see us!

If you haven’t come to us via a recommendation, we will be very happy to arrange for you to speak to one or two of our existing clients.

Costs

Virtually all our work is carried out on the basis of a ‘fixed fee’ – we will give you a quote before any work is carried out, and this quote will normally include all telephone advice throughout the year.

There are no hidden extras!

If you would prefer to pay by a monthly standing order, that’s fine – we will make the necessary arrangements.

Timescale

In the majority of cases we not only work on a fixed fee basis, but work on a fixed time basis also. At the time of taking on the work, we will agree the date for completion also, and usually arrange a date and time to meet and discuss the completed work.

Confidentiality

EVERYTHING relating to our clients is treated as TOTALLY confidential, and nothing is ever discussed outside the office.

Finally

Every client is given an ‘engagement letter’ which sets out formally how we carry out our work, and what our responsibilities are to you, and what your responsibilities are to us. Our firm is regulated by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), and if the situation were ever to arise where a client was not satisfied with standards of our service, they have recourse to the ICAEW.

The ICAEW require that we have full professional indemnity insurance cover, and also requires us to attend regular training courses to ensure that we keep up to date in all the areas that we advise on.
