What do business owners need to know about the Autumn Budget Announcement?

John Healey delivered his first Autumn Budget on Wednesday 28th October.

He started by saying that his budget is “delivered at a time when global uncertainties and pressures are swirling worldwide and hitting people here at home”. He shared that there will be “a new approach to steer us through global economic storms and give people fresh hope for Britain’s future”.

We expected the announcement to be a significant one this time and, in many ways, it was (disregarding the now traditional freeze on fuel duty!) - but as Healey stated, it was “a budget for the worker, the sole trader, the parent at the school gate”, so the main announcements were in these areas.
